Mohan Ghee® – A Founder's Journey Through Partition and Purity
The story of Mohan Ghee® is one of resilience, tradition, and an uncompromising commitment to quality. It began with Lala Shankar Das Behl, a headmaster in Jandraka, in pre-Partition Pakistan, who crafted Bilona (hand-churned) desi ghee as a labor of love. Forced to relocate during Partition, Lala ji and his family brought their skills and values to Delhi.
His foresight laid the foundation for Mohan Ghee, made from buffalo milk rich in A2 beta-casein protein, offering unparalleled quality at an accessible, inclusive price. In the new country, Mohan Ghee® quickly became a household name because of its rich, granular texture (danedar), delectable aroma, the delicious taste of purity, and its health giving properties.
Unlike the commercial cream ghee commonly available then, Mohan Ghee® was predominantly crafted using the Vedic Bilona method of hand-churning, which helped preserve the nutrients in milk.
A Legacy Continued: From Mohan Ghee® to MORHAV™ Organics
Shri Dwarka Nath Behl, Lalaji's son, lived with Lalaji and learned from him. He carried forward this legacy with humility and dedication, embodying the values of service and integrity.

For all products, each ingredient undergoes 64 quality checks to ensure natural purity and maximum potency. For our bouquet of teas, following ancient Ayurvedic principles, we carefully select and process 108 rare herbs and botanicals using traditional methods. Our ghee is crafted using the Ayurvedic Bilona method (hand-churning with wooden bilona), and on low flame heating, which helps preserve natural nutrients and their prebiotic benefits. Chemical and preservative-free, MORHAV ghee is 100% pure -just as nature intended. Our ghee undergoes 167 quality checks and is a testament to purity, flavour, and health.

Our 3-tier quality assurance system includes Fssai norms; DNA testing; and heavy metals screening, microbial, additives and pesticide analysis. We are ISO 22000 certified and FDA approved. At MORHAV, we believe in interpreting traditional wisdom through the prism of modern standards.

We partner with 1,200+ small-scale farmers across 47 villages in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and other regions of the Himalayas and the Aravallis. Our fair-trade practices ensure higher income for farming families while preserving traditional cultivation methods passed down through generations.
